How to choose a Pre-workout supplement?

Pre Workout supplements are a rage these days. Everybody wants to experience that buzz before hitting the gym. When it comes to how to choose a pre workout there are certain things which should be kept in mind.
1.) Always stay away from those pre- workouts which have some propertiery blends.
2.)You should know how to read the ingredients and what they actually mean.
The main ingredients which you should be search for are as follows:
a) Citruline malate
L-citruiline is a part of the urea cycle which also includes L-orthi ine and L-arginine.
Supplementation with this compound can increase your endurance in the gym. It also increases nitric oxide metabolism which can increase pumps in the gym. Recommended dosage for getting results in the gym is around 6 to 8 gms.

b.) Beta alanine
This is a variant of amino acid alanine. It can increase muscular endurance. It helps by fighting lactic acid build up in the body.
Standard dosage is between 2gm to 5gm per day. Large dosages of beta alanine may cause a tingling sensation called as parathesia. This is a harmless side effect.

c.)Betaine also known as trimethyl glyceine.
From the health prespective it is used for DNA repairing , turning genes on and off, fighting infections, getting rid of environmental toxins to name a few.
It works like a osmolyte which implies that it increases intracellular hydration. It decreases the level of homocystene wose elevated levels are associated with heart diseases.

She also talks about how to choose a multivitamin.

Tina Sapre addresses almost all common concerns that women have related to consuming multivitamins supplements and shares tips for good health. She is quick in refuting some common myths surrounding the consumption of vitamins and other supplements by women. She says: “After a particular age, you do need supplements like a multivitamin.”

Our Expert, Tina Sapra has challenged the misconception of women who say they don’t need any supplements to stay fit and active at a certain age. She also stresses on checking multivitamins that have micronutrients like zinc, selenium. She talks about scientific reasons why food is not enough for the women’s body.

One of the reasons Nutrition Consultant, Tina Sapra gives is: “We have food which contains the D2 vitamin and it doesn’t get converted to D3 unless we sit under the sun.”

How many of us do that? The answer is disappointing as very few women do that and this is a major cause why Indian women are having knee replacement surgeries.

Tina also shares insightful knowledge about the ingredients women need to consume on daily basis even if they are going out for a gym or doing yoga.

She talks about what right percentage of Daily Recommended Intake (DRI) that we all should look for while buying multivitamins. There are also some supplements that can be taken in natural forms such as Chia seeds, flax seeds and fish oil, and are also easily available.

It’s important for women to start taking their health issues seriously and be aware of the right supplements and multivitamins for good health.

Nutrition Consultant, Tina Sapra also encourages annual health checkup for women to find out what their body is deficient of and what exact supplement they need for good health.

Most of the Indian women complain about pain in the bone, Tina explains scientifically what they are deficient of and how they can get rid of the regular bone pain. In the end, she talks about what every woman over the age 30 should take as a supplement to keep themselves active and healthy.

Ideal dose: 200-1000 milligrams

3. Caffeine And L-Theanine
What it is: Caffeine is a stimulant; L-theanine has a relaxation effect.

What it does: L-theanine is used with caffeine to enhance cognition while lessening the potential jittery side effects of taking caffeine on its own. This nootropic combination allows your body and brain to be more relaxed while simultaneously promoting a quicker reaction time, enhanced pain threshold, and the ability to do more work. It can help you feel more focused and waste less energy while achieving your goals.

Ideal dose:

Caffeine: 100-200 milligrams

L-theanine: 50-250 milligrams

4. Theacrine
What it is: Theacrine is an alkaloid. It can act as a stimulant, without having over-stimulatory side effects.
